Project Details
Role of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor in hepatic immune regulation (P03*)
Subject Area
Nutritional Sciences
Term
from 2018 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 80750187
The aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is an important immune modulator that can integrate signals from environmental, microbial or metabolic ligands into the immune response. We will explore the role of AhR in the regulation of hepatic immune tolerance and inflammation, both at the level of T cells and hepatic antigen presenting cells. Furthermore, we will evaluate the therapeutic potential of AhR ligands for the treatment of inflammatory liver diseases.
