High-power tunable THz source ((2)-C10)

Subject Area Electronic Semiconductors, Components and Circuits, Integrated Systems, Sensor Technology, Theoretical Electrical Engineering
Term from 2018 to 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 287022738

The goal of this project is to develop a laser-driven THz source delivering extremely high average power (watt-level) with tunable frequency in the frequency window [0.25 – 5 THz]. In order to achieve this goal, we target to realize a unique ultrafast high-power laser source based on cavity-dumped thin-disk lasers, to drive the generation of tunable THz pulses via difference frequency generation. The targeted source will provide MARIE researchers with unique opportunities to test new challenging devices, measurement methods and simulation tools by significantly expanding the explorable parameter range.
DFG Programme CRC/Transregios
