This project focuses on the comprehensive investigation of the thermochemical properties and structure-property relationships of the imidazolium-based ionic liquids, which are widely used as solvents in the materials synthesis, with an aid of a diverse range of thermochemical characterisation techniques (DSC, TGA, mass spectrometry, vapour pressure measurements). A computational model for the determination of the maximum operation temperature and long-term stability of the ionic liquids based on experimental results will be developed and tested. The gained insight into the thermal stability and the evaporation behaviour of the ionic liquids will enable their applications both on laboratory and industrial scales. The obtained data will contribute to a wide range of synthetic procedures aiming at controlled materials synthesis.
