Project Details
Fundamental plasma-catalyst interaction in micro-structured discharges (A06)
Subject Area
Optics, Quantum Optics and Physics of Atoms, Molecules and Plasmas
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 327886311
Micro-structured discharges consist of thousands of identical cavities, each acting as a separate plasma catalytic reactor. Combining time- and spatially-resolved optical diagnostic techniques, the catalytic performance in each cavity, coated with different catalyst material in a combinatorial approach, is analyzed to determine optimal conditions for plasma catalysis. Machine learning approaches are used to interpolate and extrapolate the influence of different plasma parameters and catalysts on a larger scale.
