This project will develop intuitive analytical models for ultrafast spin transport through interfaces involving various types of magnetic materials and for spintronic effects mediated by the transport of orbital angular momentum. The semi-phenomenological models that we aim to develop provide a framework within which experiments on ultrafast spin transport inside the CRC TRR 227 can be described. The goal is to capture – in analytically tractable ways – key differences between low frequency and ultrafast spin transport.
