Project A04 examines the inclusion and exclusion dynamics as well as the benefit dynamics of health systems after their establishment. Three research objectives are pursued: (1) to describe the development of health systems worldwide from their formation to present day in terms of coverage and generosity, (2) to explain the temporal and spatial patterns of inclusion, exclusion, and benefit dynamics using quantitative data analysis methods, (3) to analyze the influence of colonial heritage on health system adoption, design, and development using a comparative case study (Kenya / Nigeria).
