Network Building Research Postwar-Architecture 1945+ / NBJB 1945 +
Final Report Abstract
The network NBJB 1945+ has discussed the current procedures of the building-historical inventory documentation for younger building stocks 1945+ and has worked out new standards, which correspond to the requirements of the practice. The basis for this was the practical experience of the network members from ongoing research and projects. The network documented the collected case studies, compared methodical procedures and published the results in book form with the final publication: Under the title "Reallabor Nachkriegsmoderne. Zum Umgang mit jüngeren Denkmalen" this guide to action for research into the history of modernism in buildings is available in bookshops in order to have as wide an impact as possible. Architects, monument conservators, civil engineers and all other project participants in a renovation project on buildings from the 1950s to the 1970s/80s are thus provided with concrete assistance for the recording and evaluation of the inventory. The success of the network was also the result of professional cooperation between the institutions of historic preservation and the research institutes at universities and technical colleges. But also the mediation of the results and intermediate states in the form of a website submitted by the network to the interested professional public could be ensured on demand with contributions of the participating network members.
