In this project we would like to unravel the mystery of the link between n-damo and Anammox. To reach this goal isotope measurements of methane, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, and DIC linked with molecular biological methods are performed. In addition, we would like to shed light on the understanding of the groundwater / lake water interaction to explain the stable environmental conditions needed for the hypothesized biogeochemical processes.
