Final Report Abstract

In this project we built a strong scientific network focusing on UAVs and their application in environmental sciences. The biggest result of the collaboration was a teaching book illustrating details of technical basics of UAV systems and sensors, data capture, processing, analysis and interpretation as well as case studies across the environmental sciences. The book is targeted at students and early career researchers interested in the usage of UAVs to observe, analyze, and map the environment. The book had been introduced within a workshop that was co-hosted by the German association for photogrammetry and remote sensing (DGPF). Thereby, authors that contributed book chapters and are experts in their field gave short lectures. The book is open access available and already hosted by many libraries at universities.
