The control of both the single-skyrmion dynamics and the interactions between skyrmions is a major goal in the field of skyrmionics. Nanostructuring in space is a key to realize functionalities of skyrmion devices. Within the project, we want to explore how nanostructuring in space can be combined with nanostructuring in time. Here we will focus on the, perhaps, simplest possible setup: skyrmions in the presence of a periodic, time dependent field. For example, it is possible to induce unidirectional motion of a single skyrmion driven by an oscillating magnetic field. We will investigate how oscillating fields influence the skyrmion‐skyrmion interaction, the skyrmion‐wall interaction and, more generally, the dynamics of skyrmions in nanostructures. We will use micromagnetic simulations in real time and analytic approaches. Using the Floquet formalism, we will develop a theory of forces on skyrmions and of excitations in driven magnetic systems. Besides the control of the skyrmions itself, also the control of spin- and heat current interacting with the skyrmions will be a focus of our investigations. An important element of the project is the close collaboration with experimental groups.
