Project Details
Ryanodine receptors and NAADP in T cell biology (A01)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 335447717
Project A01 deals with the role of NAADP signaling and ryanodine receptors (RYR) in T cell activation. In the 2nd funding period, we discovered several new details of the NAADP - ryanodine receptor 1 signaling pathway and obtained evidence for its relevance for autoimmunity of the CNS. In the 3rd funding period, we will analyze additional basic mechanisms and develop new molecular tools for the NAADP - ryanodine receptor 1 signaling pathway. Further, we will unravel the role of the NAADP signaling pathway in the activation of human ((auto)antigen specific) T cells isolated from multiple sclerosis (MS) patients.
