Project Details
The spatiotemporal signature of cAMP in adipose tissue and its link to extracellular purines (A09)
Subject Area
Cell Biology
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 335447717
The overall aim of project A09 is to study cAMP export by brown adipocytes and whether this is an intrinsic mechanism to regulate thermogenesis. We will investigate whether extracellular cAMP is involved in paracrine signaling to other cells within BAT and decipher cAMP degradation pathways. Using spatial-omics technologies, we will study the contribution of different cell types to overall levels of cAMP, ATP and adenosine as well as enzymes involved in the purinergic cascade in BAT.
