On The DFG project „A new edition of the second oldest text from Ancient India, the Śaunaka¬saṃhitā of the Atharvaveda along with the preparation of the Index verborum of the Paippalāda¬saṃhitā and Śaunakasaṃhitā“ follows a continuation project „Completion of the Index Verborum of the Paippalādasaṃhitā of the Atharvaveda“ which is planned for seventeen months. The work on creating a new edition began in 2018 and was completed in June 2021. The new edition with the title „Atharvavedasaṃhitā of the Śaunakaśākhā. A new edition with special consideration of the parallel passages of the Paippalādasaṃhitā“ is now available in the form of a Word document and a PDF file. In the future, it should be made available to the public in digital form.We will finalize the Index Verborum of the Paippalāda- (AVP) and Śaunaksaṃhitā (AVŚ) of the Atharvaveda, that was begun five years ago already. The AVŚ part of the Index Verborum which has been brought to the most recent research was completed in April 2021 and contains all of the lemmata from AVŚ before the beginning of the continuation project. The AVP part of the Index Verborum is taken in about 87 % of the whole lemmata from the AVP, so that 13 % of the lemmata which mostly have no parallel will enter into the Index Verborum during the course of the new project. The Index part of the AVP to be completed will represent a novelty. The finished Index Verborum will be changed in the order of AVP-AVŚ to AVŚ-AVP. We thus gain two separate Indices, an index in the order of AVP-AVŚ and an index in the order of AVŚ-AVP.
