The organisation of the sensory world into semantic categories and more abstract concepts is fundamental to cognition. These processes place high cognitive demands on a species and can be studied only in very few animal models. Corvid birds are such a model. Here, I propose to study category learning in corvids using modern multisite neurophysiology. The aim of the project is to understand interaction of multiple structures and their respective plastic contributions at different levels of abstraction.
