The project is devoted to researching the (professional) papers of recently-deceased television producer Wolfgang Rademann by means of a production studies approach. The goal of our microscopic production study is twofold: We, first, aim to clarify for media historiography the diverse, heterogeneous dynamics of serial television production, a process that very much depends on specialization and division of labor. Secondly, we will inquire from a discourse analysis perspective which strategic operations and attributions enabled Rademann to act as ultimate authority in questions of German TV entertainment for decades.
