Optical spectral analysis with micro particle array
Final Report Abstract
Within the scope of this project it could be shown by theoretical investigations with the help of real resonance spectra that a reconstruction of unknown spectra should be possible. Contrary to initial expectations, this should also be possible for spectrally broad light sources (> 20 nm). The main task turned out to be the similar illumination of the array by the calibration laser system and the light source under investigation. A use of a single-mode optical fiber was tested, but this turned out to be impractical. The use of multimode fiber showed a significant influence of interference at the fiber end when using the calibration laser. Suppression of this influence will thus be the main task for later investigations. If this succeeds, a successful application of the presented methodology can be expected, not least due to the simple setup.
