Final Report Abstract

Um die unterschiedlichen Praktiken psychiatrischer Schulen vergleichend zu untersuchen, führte das Berliner Team des binationalen Forschungsprojektes drei Fallstudien durch: Anhand der qualitativen Auswertung von Krankenakten wurden die psychiatrischen Praktiken der Berliner Psychiatrischen und Universitätsnervenklinik, der Heidelberger Universitätspsychiatrie und der Straßburger Psychiatrie untersucht. Dabei stellte sich heraus, dass das Selbstbild der psychiatrischen Schulen zum Teil erheblich von der täglichen Praxis abweicht. So etablierte die eigentlich „biologistisch“ ausgerichtete Psychiatrie an der Charité eine psychotherapeutische Modellstation, während sich der an der Lebensgeschichte des einzelnen Patienten orientierte anthropologischen Psychiatrie in Heidelberg in einer sozialpsychiatrischen Einbindung der Patienten verlor. Ein weiteres zentrales Ergebnis der Studie ist, dass die systematische Diagnose oft in einer sehr losen Korrelation zu Behandlung steht. Welche Kriterien letztlich handlungsleitend für die psychiatrische Praxis sind, erweist sich damit als offene Frage.
