Project Details
Cooperative Lewis Pairs based on fluorinated aluminum- and bismuth-containing acceptor units (B01)
Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
since 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 387284271
In project B1|Limberg, intramolecular frustrated (or cooperative) Lewis pairs (FLPs) are investigated. In the coor-dination sphere of the FLPs, small molecules can be polarized and transformed, accompanied by cleavage of σ- and/or π-bonds. Aluminum- and bismuth-based groups are used as Lewis acidic centers. Fluorine-Specific effects such as negative hyperconjugation are the key for tuning the system's Lewis acidity.
