Control of Spin States at Metal Centers through Fluorine-Specific Interactions in the Secondary Coordination Sphere (B02)

Subject Area Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term from 2019 to 2022
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 387284271

Project Description

Within this project, we want to develop ligand systems that contain C-F bonds at specific positions. Such C-F units will be used to generate targeted Fluorine-Specific Interactions in the secondary coordination sphere of 3d metal centers, which in turn will control the spin states at the transition metal center. The immediate goal of this project is the switching of spin states through external stimuli. A long-term goal is the modification of the reactivity at the transition metal center through a control of its spin state.
