Metallurgical, Thermal and Thermomechanical Treatment of Materials
Term
from 2019 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 68237143
Within the transfer project T08, the lifetime model developed in subproject C6 is to be transferred to components, which are produced by a sheet-bulk metal forming process and for which an additional heat treatment is intended to increase hardness and to influence the residual stress state. Highresolution scanning electron microscopy will be used to characterize the ductile damage caused by the forming process, which will be considered as the initial length for the service life calculation. The aim is to determine the mechanisms and the potential for damage compensation by heat treatment and to apply to the demonstrator process.
