Project Details
Mechanisms of tumorigenesis and metastasis formation by the phos-phatase PRL-3 (B13#)
Subject Area
Cell Biology
Term
from 2019 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 89986987
The phosphatase of regenerating liver (PRL)-3 promotes cell proliferation, migration, disruption of epithelial architecture, and invasion, and is found highly expressed in many carcinomas and metastases. To date, the reported molecular mechanisms cannot explain all phenotypes in full. This project addresses this challenge by studying the molecular mechanisms of PRL-3 in different cell types from the same genetic background ex- and in vivo. Together, the aim is to understand PRL-3-mediated phenotypes on a mechanistic level, and to give insights into possible drug targeting of PRL-3 and processes affected by it.
