Project Details
Deciphering epigenetic regulation of angiogenic endothelial cells in health and disease (A05)
Subject Area
Cardiology, Angiology
Term
since 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 394046768
Project A05 will (i) determine the role of distal regulatory elements in controlling angiogenic re-activation in disease, and (ii) unravel the role of epigenetic mechanisms on endothelial cell fate, heterogeneity and plasticity. Examining the distinct cellular states of the growing vasculature will highlight the interplay of epigenetics and transcription during endothelial state transitions. Collectively, this will contribute to the better understanding of epigenetic differences between developmental and malignant angiogenesis, deciphering the molecular regulation of angiogenic plasticity and determining the impact of altered gene expression in endothelial cells on lung cancer development and therapy.
