Synthesis of magnetic nodal semimetals (B05)

The goal of the project is the synthesis of high-quality single crystals, and the characterization thereof, of magnetic nodal semimetals, especially Heusler compounds and related structures. Particular foci of the work are (i) semimetals with multiple band-touching points, nodal lines, or coexisting flat bands, (ii) strongly frustrated materials potentially realizing metallic spin liquids, and (iii) homochiral crystals for the investigation of chirality-related properties. In addition, thin-film samples of topological semimetals will be prepared.
