The “Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv” and the “Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek” in Weimar own a very precious collection of Nietzsches autographs, books and the archives founded by Nietzsches sister, Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche, and thus represent an important centre of the national and international research of Nietzsches life, work and philosophy. Therefore, the Nietzsche collection of Martin Burger is one of the most important collections of Nietzscheana in private ownership. The acquisition of this collection to complete the estate is vital to guarantee free access to Nietzsches legacy for the scientific public. The hole collection will be integrated into the respective catalogue of the archives and the library.
