Project Details
Resource-efficient production technology for large-diameter rolling bearings through hybrid material systems (T01*)
Subject Area
Engineering Design, Machine Elements, Product Development
Term
from 2019 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 252662854
Ensuring the reliability of wind turbines and reducing maintenance intervals are major factors in reducing power generation costs. With the further development of wind turbines, the dimensions of the individual components are increasing. As a result, the rolling bearings of the turbines are exposed to more demanding operating conditions, which have a negative impact on their fatigue life. With an increase in reliability through adapted production of the highly stressed bearing areas, their resource efficiency will increase. To achieve this goal, these bearings will for the first time be designed, manufactured and tested with regard to their operating behavior in this transfer project in order to scale the tailored forming technology.
