This proposal investigates the strength of thick-walled GFRP-laminates under static and cyclic loading. It is the main hypothesis that the well-known drop in static strength under compression thick-walled (which is partly also found under tension) will also be found under cyclic loading. This hypothesis is checked by means of a comprehensive test program, comprising tension, compression, bending and multi-axial loading. It is complemented by high-fidelity simulations. These models reflect the actual morphology of the internal structure of the specimens. The program may only be accomplished in close interaction with the partners: ILK (for specimen manufacturing), IPC (for a complementary test program) and IKT (non-destructive inspection). The IFL part of the tests is limited to room temperature.
