The project investigates the two- and many-particle physics of spinor Rydberg polaritons. Rydberg-polaritons are quasiparticles that are generated in the coherent interaction of photons to Rydberg atoms which leads to strongly interacting photons. Making use of numerical wavefunction simulations and analytical approaches we will analyze the two-particle scattering dynamics as well as possible bound states of spinor polaritons. In addition we will stydy the many-body physics in the low-energy regime and in one spatial dimension. Here numerical simulation techniques such as DMRG (density-matrix renormalization group) as well as field-theoretical methods such as bosonization will be used.
