Project Details
Synthesis, characterization and reactivity studies of ozonido and oxido complexes of iron, nickel, cobalt and copper ions
Applicant
Professor Dr. Siegfried Schindler
Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
from 2019 to 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 429317549
Main goal of the project is the synthesis and characterization of transition metal (iron, nickel, cobalt and copper) ozonido complexes and furthermore corresponding oxido complexes. Their reactivity in regard to oxidation of organic substrates will be investigated. Stabilization of ozonido complexes should be accomplished to allow their crystallographic characterization. This could lead to a future application (in situ) in organic synthesis. A long term goal will be the immobilization of either oxido or ozonido complexes (e. g. in silica) to make them useful for practical applications in catalytic oxidation reactions.
