Final Report Abstract

In general, this research fellowship was a very good experience. Despite the COVID-19-related issues, the applicant was able to achieve most of the objectives of the application. Most importantly, however, was the possibility to learn how to analyze genomic data and to establish a bioinformational pipeline that can be used for upcoming genomic projects. The same applies for the morphometric and karyotype analyses. Being in a different lab that is mainly focuses on East African cichlids using different methodological approaches was also very helpful to gain new insights into various techniques and to consider this project from different angles. However, obtaining these first phylogenomic and other preliminary results presented in this work report would not have been possible without the immense general and financial support of the host PI.
