Adhesive-based assembly processes in an XHV-adequate atmosphere on deoxidized and oxidized surfaces (B04)
Subject Area

In this subproject, the new effects of an XHV-adequate atmosphere on oxide-free adhesive bonds of pure metal surfaces and hybrid polymer/metal composites are investigated. Furthermore, the experimental investigation and numerical simulation of the influence of oxide-free filler particles on the electrical and thermal conductivity of adhesive joints is a main focus. The characterization of the adhesive bonds is based on the functional properties (tensile strength, electrical and thermal conductivity) and on surface physical methods to correlate the interactions at the molecular level with macroscopic properties.
