Final Report Abstract

Within the project, the validity of student ratings on instructional quality was comprehensively examined. The basis for this was the longitudinal study "Teaching from Students' Perspective" (UNITAS), in which nearly 6,500 students were surveyed at two time points using a comprehensive questionnaire inventory on teaching quality in mathematics and German. Based on this dataset, a total of three overarching research questions were addressed during the project, which primarily concerned the validity of student ratings. The resulting scientific findings have since been published in international and national journals. Furthermore, project's outcomes have contributed to making the questionnaire inventory available as an evaluation component for all schools in Baden-Württemberg, and thus, contributed to instructional and school practice.
