In plants, trade-offs between growth and abiotic stress responses exist and strongly impact crop productivity. Growth promoting hormones are implicated in the cross-talk between growth and stress response pathways and the plant steroids brassinosteroids (BRs) play central roles. In this project it is proposed to study BR modes of activity in heat stress resistance, with a focus on the BR-regulated transcription factor BES1 and using Arabidopsis thaliana as a model.
