Project Details
Biologically Inspired Load-Adapted 3D Textile Reinforcement Structures (B01)
Subject Area
Lightweight Construction, Textile Technology
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 417002380
The focus of the subproject B01 (Cherif) is on the investigation of biologically—mainly botanically—inspired 3D textile reinforcement structures with spatially load adapted yarn arrangements for innovative, resource-efficient, concrete-based constructions that are characterized by high strength and curved surfaces. Modular, tool-independent technology concepts are developed, implemented, and validated; additionally, algorithms and models for the generation of laying paths with variable axes for the defined spatial arrangement of rovings are generated. Moreover, simulation-based generative manufacturing processes are developed, thus enabling the material-efficient production of 3D preforms with locally adjustable, graded properties and a wide range of different geometries.
