Project Details
Investigation of New Material and Technology Approaches for Continuous Inline-Forming and Consolidation of Textile Reinforcements (B02)
Subject Area
Lightweight Construction, Textile Technology
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 417002380
Textile reinforcements are currently being impregnated and cured prior to the component’s manufacture. These rigid semi-finished products are not suitable for the production of complex components by new continuous production processes like 3D concrete printing and concrete extrusion. The main reason is the loss of most of the form flexibility due to the established offline consolidation. Subproject B02 (Gries) therefore investigates the temporal shift of the forming and consolidation step during the concreting process by means of prepreg systems and its technical applicability in the course of new continuous production processes. In addition to known curing mechanisms, such as heat or UV radiation, new approaches, such as activation via the alkalinity of the concrete with microwaves or induction for inline production of carbon reinforced concrete, are being researched.
