The subproject develops a simulation method for the structural analysis of shells made of carbon reinforced concrete. The focus lies on the numerical homogenization of their interior structure. The method allows the analysis of large structures with detailed insight into the interior of the material. The special feature is that the stress-resultants required for the shell theory are determined by means of a representative volume element for the underlying shell kinematics, which is to be developed. Image-based methods are used for a realistic representation of the interior structure. The resulting geometry is described with a novel Scaled-Boundary Finite Element Method.
