Final Report Abstract

We explored the function of IL-3 during localized and systemis infections. Our results let suggest that (i) IL-3 improved the local antiviral defence mechanisms by recruiting pDCs from the circulation; (ii) IL-3 functions as a predictive disease marker for viral reactivation in sepsis; (iii) IL-3 orchestrates intestinal inflammation during IBDs; (iv) IL-3 helped to detect septic conditions using the ECLipse assay. Altogether, IL-3 has the potential to act as diagnostic and therapeutic target in localized and systemic inflammatory conditions.
