Charge Transfer, Diffusion and Lattice-Mediated Dynamics in Oxide Heterostructures (A07)

This project aims at microscopic analysis and manipulation of non-equilibrium charge transfer across the interfaces of perovskite oxide heterostructures as well as charge carrier diffusion. We further aim to elucidate competing phonon-mediated dynamics leading to charge carrier trapping and energy transfer by interfacial phonon modes. Interface-sensitive non-linear optical spectroscopy and element-sensitive x-ray absorption spectroscopy will be employed as complementary femtosecond time-resolved probes.
