Development of a Specialised Information Services Community Wiki: Joint Mapping of Services and Infrastructure in the Specialised Information Services Programme

The project goal is a detailed mapping of the services and technologies implemented in all Specialised Information Services funded by the German Research Foundation. The aim is to promote cooperation and an increase in reusability and interoperability of services and technical developments within the programme.The implementation follows the well-established public webis-Wiki, which is operated by Hamburg State and University Library and is the only comprehensive information service for the Specialised Information Services. This project aims to complement webis by establishing a Community-Wiki for the mutual exchange of experiences and information of the Specialised Information Services.For this purpose, an information matrix will be designed based on webis, the web portals of the Specialised Information Services, the evaluation study by Prognos AG on behalf of the German Research Foundation to evaluate the Specialised Information Services Programme, and additional documents. In two workshops, the matrix will be developed in consultation with the Specialised Information Services as well as the German National Subject Libraries and the Competence Center for the Licensing of Electronic Resources. The project addresses the need for stronger cooperation within the polycentric structure of community-specific and demand-oriented Specialised Information Services, which has been successfully established since 2014. The institutions leading Specialised Information Services , the Specialised Information Services working group as well as the report by Prognos AG have all identified the need for developing further cooperations.
