Term
Funded in 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 449115727
With this application, we are applying for funding for a confocal laser scanning microscope. This will be the central large-scale device for the new core facility microscopy to be set up at the Center for Disease-Oriented, Translational Basic Research (Zentrum für krankheitsorientierte, translationale Grundlagenforschung) in Brandenburg / Havel. The center is located on the site of the Brandenburg City Clinic (Städtisches Klinikum Brandenburg) and is primarily available to scientists from the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane, the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Brandenburg City Clinic. The research of the groups located at the center is focussed on cardiovascular translational basic research, signaling pathways of neuro- and synaptogenesis and liver-mediated immune tolerance. Two new professorships for translational immunology and clinical genetics are expected to complement the research community at the center in the course of 2020. At the moment, the center for disease-oriented, translational basic research does not have a microscope that is suitable for sensitive and high-resolution imaging and in particular for live cell imaging.
