Characterization of epigenetic regulators in Arabidopsis thaliana

Based on our previous work which identified the methyl-reader activating complex (MRAC) in Arabidopsis, we will use quantitative interactomics to identify proteins binding to different epigenetic marks in Arabidopsis and closely related species. We aim to generate interactomes for different DNA methylation types, RNA modifications and histone marks. The candidates will be further investigated in vivo using recombinant expression, reporter assay systems and transgenic plants to complement the overview picture of epigenetic regulators in plants with detailed mechanistic insights for selected candidates.
