Project Details
Single crystal diffractometer with rotating anode source for Cu-radiation
Subject Area
Molecular Chemistry
Term
Funded in 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 451001481
The diffractometer, that we are applying for, should replace a 15-year-old machine (end of support) and allow us to carry out X-ray experiments in-house at a high level. The existing equipment is in use around the clock - also on weekends - and work at its capacity limit. With the announced end of support for our older diffractometer, it can be assumed that it will be decommissioned in the near future. Entire Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy should benefit from this replacement as it should offer decisive advantages for research: a) a higher throughput of standard samples, b) the investigation of significantly smaller crystals with light atoms in a reasonable time.
