Open Access Transformative Agreements – Karger Journals

Applicant Dr. Klaus Ceynowa
Term since 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 452559984

The funding proposal submitted by Bayerische Staatsbibliothek focuses on concluding an Open Access transformative consortium agreement, which aims at the gradual transition from a subscription-based to an innovative publication-based model. At the same time relevant electronic resources are made available at the national level. Bayerische Staatsbibliothek applies for funding for an Open Access transformative agreement for the product Karger Journals, published by S. Karger AG. Scholars of participating institutions not only have the right to read the journals of the licensed portfolio, but as corresponding authors they can also publish in Open Access without limit in the hybrid journals on offer. The proposal aims at an agreement with a publisher of medical journals, whose journals’ portfolio covers 76 subscription journals and a growing number of currently 28 gold open access titles. The project thus intends to contribute to the Open Access transformation process.
