Due to a change in research interest towards pharmaceutical products, a new spray tower is required capable to handle organic liquids as well as using nitrogen as drying gas in a closed system. Submicron particles (0.1-1µm) should be produced designing new dispersing systems in order to increase the dissolution rate of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Furthermore, new formulation concepts like amorphous solid dispersions should be developed and tested where the low soluble drug is imbedded in hydrophilic polymer. These technologies should be used to overcome the low bioavailability of new drug molecules that is considered the main limitation in pharmaceutical development of these days.
