Proteomics and Glycomics of Glycocalix and Mucus (C03)

Hydrogels proteins are diversely glycosylated, which makes their structural analysis highly challenging. In project C03|Pagel/Mertins novel proteomics, glycomics and glycoproteomics techniques for hydrogel analysis will be developed. This will include approaches to increase the sequence coverage in proteomics, ion mobility spectrometry for glycosylation feature analysis, new strategies to generate intact glycopeptides, and UV photodissociation mass spectrometry to elucidate the distribution of glycans on the protein backbone. Once established, the approaches will be transferred to the service project Z01 and made available to the members of the CRC.
