Project Details
Modelling dynamic stall induced by real operating conditions (A02)
Subject Area
Fluid Mechanics
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 434502799
In subproject A02 a reduced-order model is developed, which predicts dynamic stall and transient blade loads on wind turbines. These can be induced by blade motion and unsteady wind fields on offshore megastructures and can damage the blades. A parameter study will be conducted using scale-resolving simulations, which are validated with experimental data. Based on this database the reduced-order model is developed and integrated into the digital twin. Additionally, a two-way fluid-structure interaction of a rotor blade is simulated to generate validation data for the digital twin.
