The subproject A03 addresses the modelling of hydrodynamic loads acting on offshore megastructures and the estimation of the anticipated site-specific load history. Enhanced focus will be given to the induction of wave breaking not only by wave-wave interaction but also by wave-current or wave-structure interaction, especially under influence of differently shaped wind- or tide-driven current profiles in interaction with waves. The subproject will provide a better understanding of wave-current-structure interactions and will be complemented by physical modelling of structural impacts originating from violently breaking waves.
