Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 299150580
Exact simulations of electric fields in biological tissue require a thorough understanding of the complex dielectric properties of the tissue. In this project, numerical methods based on the boundary element method are being developed to determine dielectric properties based on image data from cell cultures. By applying the boundary element method, the costly volumetric mesh generation due to the multi-scale nature of the problem is avoided. Problem-specific numerical formulations that can be solved efficiently are being developed to obtain rapid solutions.
