Project Details
Electro-optic Microstructure- and Micromotion-Sensor (A05)
Subject Area
Communication Technology and Networks, High-Frequency Technology and Photonic Systems, Signal Processing and Machine Learning for Information Technology
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 442419336
This project targets researching a novel approach for an electro-optic sensor, which enables contact-free imaging of extremely small skin surface motion and variance with exceptional accuracy (< 100 nm) and frame rate (1 kHz) within a 1 cm2 area in realtime. State of the art methods are expanded for simultaneous monitoring of all pixels within a two-dimensional image plane while heavily relying on digital signal processing and radar techniques. Primary goal is to verifying the sensor principle, first in laboratory with phantoms, afterwards in medical studies with D02-D05 to prove a diagnostic benefit, e.g. for stress detection.
