Project Details
Magnetized and isospin-asymmetric QCD matter (A08*)
Subject Area
Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Relativity, Fields
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 315477589
This project studies the phase diagram as well as thermodynamic and quasiparticle properties of QCD in the enlarged parameter space of nonzero temperatures, isospin densities, magnetic fields and small baryon densities, combining and systematically comparing first principles results from lattice QCD and functional methods. It will determine the phase structure and the equation of state for non-zero isospin chemical potentials, probe effective symmetry restoration in the meson spectrum and study the effect of isospin chemical potentials on transport phenomena. It will also investigate the signatures of the predicted superconducting BCS phase at large isospin asymmetry and continue the studies of anomalous transport by computing the out-of equilibrium chiral magnetic conductivity from the lattice.
