Solidification Experiments Of The Fe-Mn-C System (B01)

In TP B1 the solidification as well as the high temperature ductility of steel grades in the system Fe-Mn-C-Al is to be investigated; required samples for partner projects will be produced by vacuum metallurgy and ingot casting and also by low velocity solidification of smaller lots. For those purposes, metallurgical experiments well as mechanical stress/strain experiments directly after solidification will be carried out, characterized, interpreted and compared to results from simulation. Scientific goals are increased knowledge for manufacturing of defect free high and medium manganese steel material.
